Well, I have been quite busy being a junior in high school (school is so stressful). I haven't picked up my camera in a long time! I've also been inactive, so I've probably missed out on a lot of great artworks (unfortunately, I deleted in mass when I have a lot of notifications).
Do you remember my favorite model, Kingsley?
Well, we found out a while ago that he had a lump in his brain ( i knew before the vet told us. I knew the symptoms). So, yesterday (3/6/14), my mom decided to put him out of his misery. So, my best buddy has gone up to doggie heaven. I didn't want to put him down, but my mom keeps saying it was for the best.
Really, that's all that has happened recently.

Lens question? (Macro lenses)
I haven't picked up my camera in a long time, and i want to change that. But, seeing as it is winter, I don't want to go outside. I want a macro lens for my camera (Nixon D3000) and I want to get a macro lens for it. I am ashamed to say I still know nothing about camera lenses, so could anyone here help me figure out which macro lens is best for me?
I want to take nice up-close photos where you can get very textures well, detailed, and allow some small distance with it.

Summer started out fine. I basically just sat there for most of July and did nothing. My summer program was bland and unorganized, though it had its interesting moments. But after the program, I went to stay with my Aunt and Uncle in Upstate New York. I was never really close with my extended family, and had always regretted that, so those short 10 days were really meaningful to me.
But, while up there, I learned that my dad's cancer had really accelerated while I was gone. He had been diagnosed in May with Esophagus, Stomach, and Liver Cancer. It was the liver cancer that got to him. So, when I went back to my house the day after the call,
